About Occupy Totnes

The first General Assembly was on Sunday 27th November 2011 in the Civic Hall Totnes kindly facilitated by Abdullah from Occupy Exeter who travelled down to support us with our first General Assembly.  We decided to Occupy some public space in Totnes (venue to be revealed ) on Wednesday 30th November and to man a permanent although possibly mobile camp with a view to supporting and standing in solidarity with the Global Occupy movement for a fairer banking and financial system to prosper the 99% of people in the world who are facing the future as economic slaves or even worse.

 

We are also a forum and space for dialogue, discussion, direct actions, media communications, festivities, learning together about democracy, community, freedom and empowerment and economic systems that serve humanity’s real needs and noble aspirations.
